Not only was this little girl just as pretty as she could be, I just adore her name! Paisley…so sweet and not something you hear too often!

This little dude got one awesome first birthday present: a baby sister! I was at his house taking her newborn photos and we snuck outside to get a few of the birthday boy as well! He was such a happy little guy!

This little girl made me smile the whole time I was photographing her. She was so sleepy and snuggly and would you look at that hair? Just gorgeous!

Loved this sweet little girl and her daddy was the best helper! He stuck with me in the blazing heat and helped me capture how gorgeous this little one is!

I have to admit, newborns are some of the most difficult subjects to photograph. They’re temperamental little things, as I’m sure any parent knows! The thing is, I don’t care. All of those difficulties just make the photographs that much more special. I absolutely adore newborn photography.

Those first few days of life are just so amazing. Mom and Dad are getting to know this little person they’ve just brought into the world, imagining the possibilities, and discovering baby’s personality. The bond is so new, but it’s unbelievably strong.

Honestly, there’s just something magical about newborn photographs, something so special about taking the time to honor this fleeting moment when baby is so tiny. Look – do you feel the magic?

Nothing gets me more excited than being asked to photograph a newborn. For one, it gives me a good reason to cuddle a baby (who doesn’t love to do that, right?), and for another, I know that I’m capturing something so fleeting and precious. These little guys just grow up so fast and it is such an honor to be trusted with capturing these first few days of life!

Besides, babies are just cute and squishy. What’s not to love about that?
